La Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (NFL) reveló este jueves, a través de sus redes sociales, los nombres de los artistas que van a participar en el tradicional espectáculo del medio tiempo del evento deportivo más importante del año en Estados Unidos, la Super Bowl LVI.
Esta vez, la NFL se ha decidido por artistas que ofrezcan un espectáculo dedicado especialmente al estilo de la música hip-hop y, así, el show contará con cantantes como Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar y Mary J. Blige.
El Super Bowl LVI se jugará el próximo 13 de febrero en el SoFi Stadium de Inglewood, California, sede que comparten los equipos de los Rams y Chargers de Los Angeles.
Se tratará del primer Super Bowl en el área de Los Angeles desde 1973, cuando se celebró el Super Bowl VII, y el tercero en esa ciudad. Allí se disputó también el Super Bowl I, y en las dos ocasiones previas, fue jugado en el Memorial Coliseum.
En cinco ocasiones más el Super Bowl también se jugó en el Rose Bowl de la cercana Pasadena. De esta forma, se ha disputado un total de nueve veces en el estado de California.
Dre, Snoop Dogg y Lamar son oriundos de California. Blige estuvo en el show del Super Bowl XXXV junto a Aerosmith, N'SYNC, Britney Spears y Nelly. Será la primera vez para el resto.
"La oportunidad de actuar en el espectáculo de medio tiempo del Super Bowl, y hacerlo en mi propio patio trasero, será una de las mayores emociones de mi carrera", declaró Dre en un comunicado. El siete veces ganador del Grammy agregó que su actuación en el medio tiempo será un "momento cultural inolvidable".
The Weeknd fue artista en solitario en el pasado Super Bowl LV, en Tampa Bay. Fue una experiencia novedosa entre un escenario dentro del estadio y otro virtual.
