Voila! Our Black History Month door is complete! ✨ I have to admit my students were skeptical when I told them we’d be putting math on the door to our theatre classroom (math teachers, please forgive if it is all terribly incorrect! ), but choosing Hidden Figures for our Black History Month door decoration was the perfect way to go. . It is a beautifully made movie featuring incredible actors and storytellers, which furthers a lesson that is so important to what I do: that art can be both powerful and informative, telling stories and revealing truths the world is better for knowing. But most importantly, before it was a movie it was the lives lived, the war hard fought, and the journey well traveled by incredible women in trying times who we can learn much from. We celebrate you, the hidden figures of history, and we celebrate Black History Month with gratitude and gusto. ⭐️ . **I have to add that one of the inspiration pieces for this project was artwork by the INCREDIBLY talented @veronicajamisonart!
